Course Procedures

iBi lesson's format reflects both the course level and the subject of the course. The amount and intensity of student work depends upon these parameters. Hence, some courses consist of lectures [audio tape and written] and interactive tutorials while others consist of a workbook syllabus used in parallel with student's studies in the course textbook(s). Level 3 curriculum contains these elements in addition to requiring attendance at holiday seminars or single interactive seminars. Courses at all levels have homework assignments which may or may not include examinations.

All courses use the following basic methodology: The student sets his/her own pace for taking the course as long as they meet the official course time limit. Students first have an assigned reading in both the Bible and the course textbook(s). They then listen to or read the lecture material [some courses have audio lessons, some have written lectures, and some use only the textbook]. The student then completes the interactive Student Workbook Syllabus lesson. The Syllabus work lesson consists of interactive studies, word studies, writing in verses, filling in blanks, and answering questions. These worksheets are not submitted for grading as they are designed to help the student learn and retain the concepts being taught in the Bible, textbook(s), and lecture/lesson. Additionally, they prepare the student for the written homework assignments.

Upon the completion of both the readings and the workbook, the student completes the homework assignment. Only the homework assignments and tests [not all courses have examinations] are returned to the school for grading.

All Level 1 and Level 2 institute materials are available for use on the Internet or for downloading. Alternatively, these courses are available by mail, selecting either printed or audiocassette lectures/tutorial [when available]. Materials by mail will incur a course fee.

The student has up to one year to complete a Level 1 or Level 2 course. Level 3 courses have specific time limits and are given in the description for each course.

If more time is required, a written request must be submitted for an extension. Extensions are given under exceptional circumstances. It is recommended that each Level 1 and Level 2 course be completed within two to four months. Typically Level 1 and Level 2 courses consist of 8 to 10 lessons per course. Level 3 courses are of greater length and difficulty.
