Learning for the Serious Bible Student

Home > About Us > Q & A

Who should consider taking our courses?

iBi  is designed for the serious Bible student who wants to know more about God, to love Him more fully, and to serve Him more faithfully.  Those unfamiliar with the Bible or those just beginning to study it can take Level 1 courses to come to a better understanding of the Bible.

Those seeking to better understand the Bible, those lacking local Bible teaching, and those seeking to serve their local church or assembly, will benefit from our Level 2 programme. This allows great flexibility of schedule. Level 2 studies are equivalent to courses offered at local church Bible institutes.

Those seeking to serve in places of leadership in their local church or assembly and believe themselves to be called of God to serve in part-time or full-time ministry will benefit from our Level 3 programme. Level 3 studies are at the university level and are the same as may be taken at a Bible seminary.

Am I too young or too old?

iBi is designed for all ages, for people who want a biblical foundation that will equip them for serving the Lord. If you're 15, you're not too young; if you're 70, you're not too old. We are willing to invest our lives in yours, if you are willing to invest your life for God.

iBi is designed especially for those who want to study God’s purposes and involvement in both our world and individual lives. Our curriculum is centred in the Bible and all that is taught is based upon a literal – historical – grammatical interpretation of the Bible. This means that we believe what God says; we understand what He wrote in its natural meaning, avoiding allegorical interpretations; we study the cultural aspects of the context from a Jewish perspective; and above all, we seek to present it as God intended.

Can I take classes singly?

Yes, you can take one class or any number you wish. You do not have to be part of a formal degree programme. If you should decide to enter a formal degree programme at a later date, you may apply for credit for work already completed.

What is a class like?

Your classroom is your home or study location. All courses come complete with instructions and you can always contact us with questions. Go to the following link to read about - Course Procedures.

What is iBi like?

iBi is a programme for studying the Bible in the context of what God has done in the past, is doing now, and will do in the future concerning the world, Israel, Christians, and the Jewish people. The Bible comes alive at iBi.

You, the student, choose your level of study.

Ø     Level 1 involves a minimum of time and commitment; all the student needs is the desire to learn.

Ø     Level 2 is for the serious Bible student who may also have other commitments [marriage, family, job, schooling] but can be done on a part-time basis. Its requirements are higher and require greater time and effort.

Ø     Level 3 is an intensive training programme of university level work. Students will take Level 3 either as full-module [full-time] or part-module [part-time] students. This course of study requires careful time management to prevent neglect of other priorities, i.e., marriage, family, job, etc. Ideally, Level 3 will be taken as a full-module program.

What does iBi offer?

At iBi the faculty and staff are personally committed to the students. They desire each student to grow in the Lord, to be the child of God that He wants him or her to be.

At iBi you choose your own academic level. We have divided our curriculum into three levels of learning. Based upon your experience, Bible knowledge, and goals, you select the level which meets your needs.

Is the curriculum designed for the student's needs?

At iBi our curriculum is designed to be flexible and is based upon the needs of individual students. Hence, there are many options and wherever possible, we will try to work with the student’s individual needs. Previous work is considered in determining final requirements. The student programmes, when followed, will provide the diligent student with the necessary skills to serve in the place where God has led him or her.

What are the Qualifications/degree programmes?

Completion of the listed programmes results in the following qualifications.

  • Level 3 Bible Degree Program
          - Bachelor of Theology degree - 36 credit points required
          - Bachelor of Theology Degree in Jewish Studies - 40 credit points
both programs include a dissertation in the total credit points
                 above

  • Level 2 Bible Institute Programme
         - receive a Certificate in Biblical Studies
         - Diploma in Bible - 18 credit points required..
         - Diploma in Jewish Studies - 27 credit points required

  • Level 1 is equivalent to a solid church-taught education.

Can I take courses singly without being in a complete programme?

Yes, some students may wish to “fill” in gaps in their previous Bible education or take courses not available through other sources. Hence, you do not need to enroll in an entire curriculum or module. You may take any courses that you desire [course prerequisites still apply], paying only the costs associated with that course. You will receive credit for that course which may be applied at a later date to a degree programme. Completion of single courses earns a Certificate of Completion for that course.

I don't like examinations. Do you have them?

Most Level 2 courses do not have examinations. We believe that the written assignments clearly reflect a student's level of learning and understanding; thus, they are graded upon that learning and understanding rather than the student's ability to memorize for tests and quizzes.

Some Level 3 courses have examinations associated with this level of academic work. Many Level 3 courses evaluate the student's learning and understanding based solely upon written assignments.

All Level 2 and Level 3 courses have homework assignments designed to enhance the student's learning and understanding.

Can I take course without homework and examinations?

Students may take any course they wish on a non-credit point basis [audit the course]. As an non-credit point/audit student you do not have to do the homework or take examinations [where applicable]. You receive all the teaching but no assessment of your work and, of course, no certificate of completion..

What about qualification and accreditation?

We believe that our students and their ministries are the best form of accreditation.
