Sources of MP3 Players Many of the Courses include extensive audio lectures. In order to be able to offer these in an inexpensive manner, we have placed the lectures on MP3 discs. MP3 is an audio compressed format which is becoming increasingly popular among Christian organizations. We are able to put 16 hours of lecture on a single disc. The disc is the type of disc used for CD-ROM discs. Because of the unique format of MP3, it may only be played on a MP3 player or other device which plays MP3 also. Thus, most new DVD players, CD players, and computers can play the MP3 discs. We recognize this format places an additional financial burden upon the student, but believe the savings in materials [18 audio cassettes versus one disc], which results in reduced tuition, will more than offset the cost of obtaining a player. If your DVD player or CD does not specify MP3 format then you will require a MP3 compatible machine. Again, all modern computers do play MP3 using the media player. In order to help the student locate economical sources of MP3 players we list the following machines. We do not endorse these products nor guarantee their quality, we merely offer them for informational purposes. Be careful, be sure the player you purchase plays the MP3 CD discs, some MP3 players play only downloads from computers. Prices listed are current as of 1 January 2004.
